MARYLAND – Eleanor P. Hamill, 90, died early Saturday morning, November 21, 2020 at home.
Born on March 27, 1930 in the Bronx, NY Eleanor moved to Schenevus, NY when she was 11 years old. Eleanor was the daughter of German immigrants Henry and Marichen Pape who owned a small family dairy farm in Elk Creek and is a graduate of Andrew S. Draper Central School.
Eleanor was an entrepreneur, opening a local ice cream business The Brown Cow, in the late 60’s, which employed all of her children. Later on, she opened The Udder Place where she sold her handmade afghan blankets and homemade crafts.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Dennis G. Hamill. Survivors include Dennis and Eleanor’s 8 children, 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
